Homes For Veterans Board of Trustees
Douglas DiPaola- President
As a local Bergen County New Jersey business man and home builder Doug came across veterans who are victims of the economy ~ veterans from his own industry losing their apartments after being laid off and their unemployment benefits running out.
These veterans had to move in with friends or relatives. The disabled veterans have more of a problem. There is no adequate handicapped housing. As the economy improves some are able to work, but to afford a home or even find handicapped housing that will accommodate them is practically impossible.
Now Douglas DiPaola can build homes for these handicapped and disabled veterans, hiring other able veterans and other building professionals to help build them.
Joanne DiPaola
Joanne is a local Bergen County New Jersey elementary school teacher. Joanne has involved herself with our service men and women by having her third grade classes write letters and send them along with other items to the troops on the ground.
“It’s a wonderful way to let them know they are always in our hearts and minds, and thank them for giving so much to protect us. Homes For Veterans will allow me to continue to support these wonderful men and women.”
Frances DiPaola
Fran is the Executive Director of a local Bergen County New Jersey child care center. She is honored to be part of Homes For Veterans.
“The work we do will help our severely disabled and handicapped veterans to have independence and the freedom that they so justly deserve in their own homes. I am grateful to the military for protecting our country and freedom.”
Fran has experience in grant writing, fundraising, and marketing.
Daren Beltz – Military Adviser – Fund Raising Director
Daren Beltz is a 10 year Navy veteran who served on board the USS America, the USS Independence and at NAS Norfolk in the Aviation Intermediate Maintenance Depot (AIMD).
Over his 10 years of service Daren was deployed to Mediterranean and Persian Gulf. His last tour was in Japan at NAF Atsugi with deployments in the Pacific and the Persian Gulf.
Daren and his wife Hiroko are actively involved with Cairn Rescue U.S.A. as a foster home and filling the role of transportation director, coordinating the transport of dog rescues in the North East area.
As the owner of a late model race team, Daren has the marketing and fund raising experience and the attention to detail to help Home for Veterans achieve their mission.
Daren and his wife Hiroko are no strangers to the plight of our veterans and are proud to assist Home for Veterans to help those who pay the cost of the freedom that we enjoy every day.
Maureen McCullough – IT & Online Marketing Director
Maureen has been on board with HomesForVeterans.us since it’s conception – first being approached initially by the President, Douglas DiPaola, to build the website and handle the month to month IT needs – search engine optimization, marketing, graphic design, and social media.
This Bergen County New Jersey businesswoman – who owns her own successful website hosting, design and marketing firm, along with an online gift shop – strongly believes in supporting wounded veterans with specially adapted housing and is honored to be a part of the team.
Maureen recognizes the amazing potential that HomesForVeterans.us has in making a difference in the everyday lives of combat wounded veterans. She has been instrumental in recruiting her own clients to support HFV with donations from website sales, as well as working with other entities for fundraising and goal making for the organization. She looks forward to bringing HomesForVeterans.us to the next level of success with increased funding and strategic development.
