*update* on Doug DiPaola's COVID19 situation: dad is showing signs of improvement! After speaking with his doctor today - they are lowering the ventilator which is amazing news! He has no fever! His vitals are good! This will be a long process -- but your prayers, comments, thoughts and donations have been incredible and are making a huge difference. Thank you everyone so much. Times are scary and the entire world is vulnerable due to the pandemic that is COVID19. Homes For Veterans founder/CEO Doug DiPaola is fighting for his life because of it.

*Update* Doug DiPaola is still in ICU fighting COVID19 on a ventilator. We just heard from his doctor they will begin to slowly wean him off of the ventilator over a period of time. His fever is down, vitals are good and he is strong! Thank you for all of the prayers. Please keep praying! The prayers and support are working! I know my dad will be home soon!

Dear Our Homes For Veterans Family:

This is an urgent message in regard to our Founder, CEO, and my dad, Douglas DiPaola. Doug has been very sick for almost 3 weeks now with coronavirus like symptoms and was managing at home with our family and primary care physician. As of last night he was admitted into the ICU and is now on a ventilator fighting the COVID-19 virus, like so many all over the world have been over the past few months.

I ask for your prayers during this time, as my family cannot be in the hospital with my dad due to the mandatory quarantine. I also ask that you spread awareness, stay inside and protect yourselves and your loved ones, for I fear this will only continue to spread if we do not stick together, stay inside and fight as a world to combat this virus.

We want to assure you that we take the health and well-being of our veterans, contractors, and supporters very seriously. Like you, we're closely monitoring the quickly developing effects of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, we are practicing social distancing. We have temporarily suspended our projects to protect and care for those who work with us, our veterans, and the public. Once Doug has recovered and the COVID-19 regulations have been lifted, we will continue our projects on a first come, first serve basis. Meaning - if you submitted a request several weeks or months ago, we will start with those projects and work our way towards the most recent requests.

We are all in this together - not only as a nation but as a world. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and will follow guidance from public health officials and government agencies, so we can continue to support our veterans and my dad.
